How to Add Pictures to Blogs or Forums

When creating a forum or blog, you will find the “Image Picker” box under the “Body” creation area. Click on the browse button in the image picker box to go to the picture you want to download. It is recommended you resize the picture in a photo editing package to approximately 2-3 inches wide before you attempt to upload it. Image Picker is set to upload your picture at its original size and a 3 inch by 3 inch size covers approximately half the column.

Until you become more proficient in using the image picker, it is recommended to leave the “thumbnail size” and “image scale” in their default settings.

Type in a name for your picture and a short description in the appropriate boxes. The title will appear as your mouse scrolls over the image, once it is posted.

Click on the “upload” button at the bottom of the box. You may need to use the down scroll bar to see the “upload” button.

You may receive some error messages. You can ignore these in most cases and proceed to the next steps. Scroll down in the box to set the alignment (left or right) and the size (full or thumbnail). It is recommended to leave the link setting at its default until you become more proficient in using Image Picker.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO PLACE YOUR MOUSE CURSER IN THE BODY TEXT WHERE YOU WANT THE IMAGE TO BE PLACED BEFORE INSERTING IT. Place your curser in the text above the image picker where you want the picture to be placed.

Click on “insert image” button at the bottom of the screen. You will notice html code has been placed in the body text. You can preview the layout and design of the forum or blog with the image by clicking on “preview” at the bottom of the page.

THE IMAGE AND ITS PLACEMENT WILL NOT BE SAVED UNTIL YOU CLICK ON THE “SAVE” BUTTON.

There is a current limit of 5 pictures to a page.
